Brief history

ACE, Inc. was established in 1998. The Founder, Ken Bergler, started doing contract work in the fields of CAD, solid modelling, CNC part programming, and Zeiss CMM programming. At this time, Carl Zeiss IMT had a need for additional support for their turnkey projects. ACE began to develop a very positive reputation with its customers. Without advertising, work increased through word of mouth and repeat business.

In 1999, ACE could no longer handle the quantity of work it was receiving, so ACE expanded. A building was leased in Sterling Heights, Michigan, a Zeiss Prismo 10 was purchased, and 3 additional engineers hired. With the additional resources, ACE was able to take on larger projects while continuing to give its customers the quality they had come to expect. Over the next five years, ACE continued to expand its customer base.

In 2005, ACE moved to Shelby Township, Michigan into a new facility that better served their needs.

In 2008, ACE acquired Quality Tech Inc. This expanded their resources by adding 3 additional CMM's, and adding U-Soft, Metrolog, and PC-Dmis to the range of programming platforms. With more than 6 full time application engineers, no projects are too big.

In 2011, ACE became a distributor of Renishaw products. ACE now offers retrofits, new machine sales and support for Revo, PH20, and Equator. Full turn-key solutions are also available for our full range of products.

In 2014 ACE was purchased by Renishaw plc, a leading global supplier of engineering technologies and medical devices. Renishaw's products are class-leading  with a strong focus on industrial metrology, machine tool automation and additive manufacturing. Founded in 1973, Renishaw now has 4000 staff in 35 countries around the world.

Our engineers have a diverse range of background knowledge in fields such as metrology, computer science, computer engineering, engine calibration and testing, forging, wood pattern making, fixture building, plastic injection tooling, vac-form moulding, and classroom training. This varied set of background skills gives our engineers the added capability of better understanding our customers' needs whilst continuing to provide a high quality service.
